The Hargreeves adventure comes to an epic conclusion as the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy premieres exclusively on Netflix on August 8.

Created for Netflix by Steve Blackman and developed by Jeremy Slater, the series first debuted in February 2019 and is based on a comic book series by the same name written by Gerard Way. It follows a group of dysfunctional, adopted siblings with extraordinary superpowers. In 1989, 43 infants were born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy. Seven are adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who created the superhero team he dubbed "The Umbrella Academy." In their teenage years, the family fractures, each going their separate way. Fast forward to the present, the six surviving siblings are reunited by their father's death as they continue to uncover shocking family secrets while trying to save humanity from a looming apocalypse.

Even though season 4 only has 6 episodes (the first 3 seasons consisted of 10 episodes), it returns with a significant twist from season 3. The time-traveling siblings have created a paradox where they have been replaced by another superhero group created named "The Sparrow Academy."

Per Netlix's Tudam, there's a new timeline dictated by the family patriarch, Reginald (Colm Feore), and the siblings no longer have their powers. That's not the only oddity in this timeline, where the stakes are higher than ever before — there are new enemies who want to see them wiped from existence.
