HBO Renews IT: Welcome to Derry for a Terrifying Season 2

The nightmare is far from over. HBO has officially renewed its hit HBO Original drama IT: Welcome to DERRY for a second season, giving fans another chilling reason to return to Stephen King’s terrifying universe.

From Warner Bros. Television and executive producers Andy and Barbara Muschietti, the series quickly became a major hit, ranking among the top four series premieres in HBO Max history. The eight-episode first season has also sparked strong fan reactions, with viewers embracing its dark mythology, unsettling twists and deeper exploration of Derry’s sinister history.

Season 2 will take audiences back to 1935 during the Great Depression, centering on the Bradley Gang, a group of bank robbers who stop in Derry to purchase ammunition, only to encounter unimaginable horror. Brad Caleb Kane will serve as showrunner.

With Season 1 already leaving fans hungry for more, the second season promises to uncover another bloody chapter in Derry’s history. And if there’s one thing IT: Welcome to Derry has made clear, it’s that Derry always has another nightmare waiting.
