Jesse Williams has traded in his Grey's Anatomy scrubs for the Italian sun and returned to TV as Daniel "DD" De Luca, a fixer at a luxury hotel on the Amalfi Coast in Prime Video's fun crime drama, "Hotel Costiera". The series globally premiered exclusively on Prime Video today, featuring all six episodes with breathtaking views of the Positano coast.
Based on an idea by Luca Bernabei, the series is written by Elena Bucaccio, Matthew Parkhill, and Francesco Arlanch, and co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Luca Bernabei. Williams, who also serves as executive producer, stars as a half-Italian former U.S. Marine who returns to Italy, the land of his childhood, as a fixer in one of the world's most luxurious hotels, located on the spectacular coastline of Positano. In addition to dealing with the wealthy guests' problems, Daniel is also on the trail of Alice, one of the owner's daughters, who disappeared a month earlier. Daniel must do everything he can to bring her home, but facing those who kidnapped the girl will be more challenging than any problem Daniel has ever faced.

Adding to the star power, Emmy Award winner Adam Bernstein and Giacomo Martelli directed the series. In addition to Williams, the ensemble international cast includes Maria Chiara Giannetta, Jordan Alexandra, Antonio Gerardi, Sam Haygarth, Tommaso Ragno, Amanda Campana, Pierpaolo Spollon, Alejandra Onieva, and Jean-Hugues Anglade.
Williams is incredibly charismatic, proving he should lead his own series. His excellent comedic timing makes the entire series enjoyable. Every scene he shares with his oddball friends is laugh out loud funny and truly enjoyable. The series never takes itself too seriously, combining fun mysteries, action, suspense, and breezy ease throughout all six episodes.
"Where criminals are as spectacular as the views," each episode has its own case to be solved, evolving throughout the series with a laid-back style, intertwined with the season-long arc that revolves around the search for the kidnapped girl, adding an extra layer of drama. Set against the backdrop of picturesque landscapes and local culture, the series was produced entirely in Italy, showcasing a vibrant tapestry that shines through in every episode. The series offers a delightful escape and is worth the entertaining destination.
All six episodes of "Hotel Costiera" are available to stream on Prime Video.
