The highly anticipated animated sequel "Inside Out 2" is set to take us on a thrilling new emotional journey. In the original film, we met Riley, a young girl whose emotions helped her deal with internal struggles when her family relocated from Minnesota to San Francisco. This time, Riley's emotions are joined by new ones: anxiety, ennui, embarrassment, and envy, promising a more compelling and captivating exploration of Riley's mind.
"Inside Out 2" is a sequel produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It was directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, with a screenplay by Meg LeFauve and Dave Holstein. The movie is scheduled to be released on June 14, 2024, and will be available in RealD 3D and IMAX screenings.
Pixar officially confirmed the sequel's development during the D23 Expo in September 2022. The teaser trailer and poster for the film were released on November 9, 2023, and within the first 24 hours, they were viewed over 157 million times, making it Disney's most-watched animated film trailer launch.
The movie features a stellar cast, with Amy Poehler reprising her role as Joy, along with Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan. Tony Hale takes on the role of Fear, Liza Lapira plays Disgust, and Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, Adèle Exarchopoulos, and Paul Walter Hauser join the ensemble cast.
