Fall 2: Deadpoint Takes Moviegoers to New Heights With Wild Immersive Screening Experience

What if watching a survival thriller wasn’t enough? What if you actually had to survive the screening?
That’s the question Lionsgate put to a select group of brave moviegoers on Saturday, August 22, with two seriously nerve-rattling immersive screenings of Fallout 2: Deadpoint in Los Angeles. Instead of settling into a comfortable theater seat, attendees were challenged to spend the entire movie standing on elevated platforms, essentially bringing the film’s terrifying central concept from the screen into the real world.
And there was one very simple rule - stay on the ledge! The unusual activation was designed to recreate the physical and psychological tension at the heart of Fallout 2;Deadpoint, forcing audiences to contend with balance, endurance and vulnerability while the action unfolded in front of them. In other words, movie night suddenly became a test of nerves. Who could hold on until the credits rolled? Who would be the last person standing?
The immersive event arrived just days before Fallout 2: Deadpoint makes its theatrical debut on September 2, 2026, giving fans an appropriately extreme introduction to a sequel that promises to take the franchise to even more dangerous heights. The upcoming thriller follows Jax Hunter (Harriet Slater) and Luce (Arsema Thomas) as they embark on a perilous adventure across Thailand’s Mount Kwan. Their journey takes a terrifying turn when a rockslide leaves them stranded thousands of feet above the ground, forcing them onto a narrow plank with nowhere safe to go.
The sequel once again taps into one of humanity’s most primal fears: the fear of falling. But this time, the franchise is taking that fear into a completely different environment, with Thailand’s mountainous terrain providing a spectacular, and absolutely terrifying, backdrop.
The immersive Los Angeles screenings were a clever extension of that premise. Rather than simply asking audiences to watch characters battle vertigo, exposure and impossible odds, the experience challenged viewers to physically remain elevated while the movie tested their nerves.
Directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, collectively known as the Spierig Brothers, and written by Jonathan Frank and Scott Mann, Fallout 2 brings together Slater, Thomas and Tom Brittney for a new survival nightmare.
The filmmakers also went to considerable lengths to make the danger feel tangible on screen. Recent interviews with the cast revealed that production involved filming at significant heights rather than relying entirely on artificial environments, helping create the visceral sense of exposure that defines the film.
The immersive screening is especially fitting becase the film isn't simply asking audiences to watch someone else face their fear of heights. It wants viewers to feel that fear — and perhaps question just how long they could keep their cool if they were the ones standing on the edge.
For those who weren't lucky, or fearless, enough to take part in the Los Angeles experience, the next test arrives in theaters.
