Marvel Studios takes viewers back to the technologically advanced world of Wakanda with the visually stunning new anthology series "Eyes of Wakanda". The series and Black Panther spinoff premiered today on Disney+ with all of its four episodes and follows the adventures of the historical Wakandan War Dogs of the secret organization the Hatut Zeraze as they carry out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts lost to the world.
Executive produced by the visionary mind of Ryan Coogler, who helmed the first two Black Panther movies with showrunner Todd Harris, "Eye of Wakanda" is the first television series of Phase Six of the MCU, following the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The series explores the rich history of Wakanda's vibranium and the sacrifices necessary to protect it, as well as the complexities of the nation's decision to remain isolated from the world, which leads to far-reaching consequences.

The series tells a compelling narrative, taking us to 13th-century Crete with the first episode "Into the Lion's Den," with dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts, to a reimagining of the Trojan Horse in episode 2 "Legends and Lies," with themes of loyalty and betrayal. Episode 3, "Lost and Found," takes us to the 15th Century in China with the introduction of Iron Fist. The fourth episode "The Last Panther," shifts to 19th-century Ethiopia addressing the moral obligation of Wakanda to intervene as chaos unfolds in neighboring countries and the world around them. There is also a great moment that ties in nicely to the original Black Panther in the final episode. No spoilers!
Lending their voices to bring the Wakandan story to life are Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint, and Anika Noni Rose.
"Eyes of Wakanda" is an exciting series with so much potential. The introduction of new characters adds to the vibrant tapestry of the Wakanda universe, building on its legacy that, if fully developed, can easily be adapted into a live-action series, creatively contributing to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in so many different ways.
All four episodes of Eyes of Wakanda are available on Disney+
