"Go Diego, Go!"... "Backpack, Backpack." Fans of Dora the Explorer, the highly acclaimed children's animated series created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes, and Eric Weiner, will remember one of the many phrases synonymous with the character. The series has fondly followed the adventures of Dora and her friends since its premiere nearly twenty-five years ago on Nickelodeon, spawning several global spin-off series that taught kids problem-solving skills. The franchise is back with its newest feature-length adventure, Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado, by Nickelodeon Studios, which premiered exclusively on Paramount+ on July 2.

Latina heroine Dora returns as a 16-year-old, played by Samantha Lorraine (You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah) in this brand-new family movie. The world's greatest Explorer, with new friends, Naiya and Sonny, will trek through the perilous dangers of the Amazonian jungle in search of the ancient treasure of Sol Dorado to keep this powerful treasure from falling into enemy hands.

Directed by Alberto Belli (The Naughty Nine) and written by JT Billings (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), the live-action movie kicks off "The Great Dora Fiesta," an anniversary initiative featuring an array of brand-new multiplatform content and experiences for kids and families, marking 25 historic years of the franchise.

Additionally, the film stars Jacob Rodriguez as Diego, Mariana Garzón Toro as Naiya, Acston Luca Porto as Sonny, and Daniella Pineda as Camila the Crusader, with Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias as the voice of Boots, Dora's monkey sidekick and best friend.

The new film captures the essence of the iconic show Dora the Explorer, blending action with humor and adventure, expanding on the themes of family, teamwork, and perseverance from the original series.

Cultural representation enhances the film's authenticity, creating a truly fantastic experience for younger adults while paying homage to elements of the original series that will evoke fond childhood memories in older viewers.

Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado is streaming now on Paramount+.
