"Happy Face" is the new original drama series exclusively from Paramount+, which premiered on March 20 with two of its eight episodes. The series, adapted from the 2018 podcast Happy Face by Melissa Moore and her 2009 autobiography Shattered Silence, co-written with M. Bridget Cook, is inspired by the true story of the Happy Face killer. The series follows Melissa Reed, who at 15, discovered that her beloved father was the prolific serial killer known as Happy Face.

The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with King Size Productions and is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. Created and showrun by Jennifer Cacicio, best known for "Your Honor" and "Shooter," "Happy Face" features a star-studded cast that includes Emmy-nominated and Tony Award winning actress Annaleigh Ashford and Emmy Award and two-time Golden Globe-nominated actor Dennis Quaid. The series also stars regulars James Wolk, Tamera Tomakili, Khiyla Aynne, and Benjamin Mackey.

Jumping off from Moore's true-life story, after decades of no contact, the series follows Moore's incarcerated father, Keith Hunter Jesperson, known as the Happy Face Killer as he finally finds a way to force himself back into his daughter's life. In a race against the clock, Melissa must find out if an innocent man is going to be put to death for a crime her father committed. Throughout, she discovers the impact her father had on his victims' families and must face a reckoning of her own identity.

Don't miss this chilling series as we witness the aftermath of Jesperson's murderous rampage, who is currently serving a life sentence in an Oregon prison for the murders of eight women, including one whose body was found. Dennis Quaid delivers a riveting performance as the sinister Jesperson in this dark, twisted crime series.

The first two episodes are available to stream on Paramount+, with new episodes released weekly on Thursdays through its season finale on May 1.
