Charlie Cox returns in the titular role as Matt Murdock, the blind superhero with heightened abilities in the new series "Daredevil: Born Again" based on the Marvel Comics premiering exclusively on Disney+ today with two of its nine episodes. It will release weekly episodes through its season finale on April 15. The new season sees the return of several other players, including Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, Jon Bernthal, and Ayelet Zurer, bringing back familiar faces.
Blinded as a child in an accident involving radioactive chemicals, Murdock has elevated superhuman senses, which he uses to fight crime as a lethal vigilante of justice in New York City. The highly anticipated reboot, "Born Again," will be the 13th television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios. This brings the Devil of Hell's Kitchen back to our television screens, promising even more action and mayhem since the original series which ran on Netflix between 2015-2018 ended with season 3. It's been over six years since the acclaimed series got cancelled, but the wait is finally over. Fans who saw Charlie Cox's brief appearances in "Spider-Man: No Way Home " and "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" can look forward to the man without fear as Murdock is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

Reviews are pouring in and "Born Again" is receiving rave reviews for its creative direction across all nine episodes. Hailed as a worthy successor to the original series and even the best series of the MCU, critics have overwhelmingly praised the series as a win for the MCU. It continues the original series with gripping storylines, dark subject matter, and brutally charged action sequences. Cox and D'Onofrio give masterful, nuanced performances in an emotionally charged and electrifying series, making the characters compelling and fun to watch. Critics have already begun the countdown to the second season, which is reportedly set to premiere in early-to-mid-2026 with 8 episodes.
