Christmas came early for Reacher fans. The announcement by Prime Video arrives while Season 5 is already in production and just weeks after Season 4 wrapped, making it clear that the streamer has no intention of slowing down one of its biggest television franchises.
The renewal should come as little surprise when you look at just how massive Reacher has become. According to Amazon, Season 4 amassed an impressive 66 million viewers globally during its first 28 days on Prime Video, adding another huge chapter to the show's already remarkable run. Since premiering in 2022, the series has transformed Lee Child's famously solitary drifter into one of Prime Video's signature characters, with Alan Ritchson's towering, charismatic performance giving Reacher the perfect combination of brute force, dry humor, mystery and old-school heroism.
That combination is a huge part of the show's appeal because Reacher knows exactly what its audience comes for while continuing to find new ways to put its hero in increasingly dangerous situations. Season 4 kept that momentum going with another high stakes mystery that pushed Reacher into dangerous territory after a chance encounter with a distressed stranger on a Philly subway pulled him into a conspiracy involving terrorism, government agencies and powerful enemies. The season wrapped on September 16, but instead of giving fans time to catch their breath, the franchise immediately moved forward with Season 5, which is already in production and will adapt Lee Child's Make Me. The upcoming season sends Reacher to the mysterious town of Mother's Rest, where he joins forces with private investigator Michelle Chang while investigating a disappearance that leads him toward a much larger criminal conspiracy.
While Reacher remains the heart of the franchise, the universe got bigger as Maria Sten's Neagley expanded the world established by the flagship series by following the former 110th Special Investigations Unit member as she investigated the suspicious death of a childhood friend.
The response to Neagley has only added fuel to the excitement surrounding the expanding franchise, with the series reaching the No. 1 spot on Prime Video in the U.S. and even briefly putting Neagley ahead of her former teammate on the streaming service's rankings. Alan Ritchson celebrated Maria Sten and the show's success on social media, giving fans another fun reminder that the two series are part of the same growing television universe rather than competing worlds.
Naturally, that success has fans asking the next obvious question: When is Prime Video going to renew Neagley for Season 2?
