Sunday nights are about to get a whole lot more dangerous.

CBS is kicking off its fall premiere week tonight, October 4, with the highly anticipated returns of Marshals for Season 2 and Tracker for Season 4, giving viewers a back to back night of action, mystery, family drama. The two returning dramas are part of CBS' 2026-27 premiere lineup, with Marshals leading the night before Tracker takes over with another high stakes case.

Marshals Season 2: Kayce Dutton Is Back in the Line of Fire

Luke Grimes returns as Kayce for the second season of the Yellowstone spinoff, and the new season picks up with the former cowboy and Navy SEAL facing another dangerous battle between his responsibilities as a U.S. Marshal and his determination to protect his family. CBS describes Kayce as a man trying to create some stability for himself and his son Tate while violence continues to follow him wherever he goes.

The Season 2 premiere, titled “All Hat No Cattle,” immediately throws Kayce into survival mode when he goes rogue in a desperate attempt to save Tate. At the same time, the Marshals uncover a powerful criminal operation connected to the East Camp land grab, turning what could have been a personal rescue mission into something much larger.

That family versus duty conflict remains at the heart of the series, but Season 2 expands the pressure across the entire ensemble. Logan Marshall-Green returns as Cal, who is dealing with his own health battle while attempting to lead the team alongside Andrea, played by Ash Santos. Arielle Kebbel returns as Belle Skinner, while Tatanka Means continues as Miles Kittle.

Meanwhile, Gil Birmingham's Thomas Rainwater faces a very different kind of battle at Broken Rock. A younger generation of Native leaders is pushing for a new vision for the reservation, forcing Rainwater to reckon with his influence, his legacy and what comes next. That storyline gives Marshals another layer beyond its law-enforcement action, bringing questions of leadership, identity and generational change into the larger story.

The Yellowstone universe is still very much alive. Jefferson White returns as Jimmy Hurdstrom, while Season 2 also introduces Marque Richardson as assistant U.S. attorney Patrick Burns. For fans who enjoy their television with gunfights, family secrets, complicated loyalties and a little Montana dust thrown in, Marshals is coming back swinging.

Watch Marshals Season 2 tonight, October 4, at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Beginning October 11, the series returns to its regular 8 p.m. timeslot.

Tracker Season 4: Colter Shaw Has Another Mystery to Solve

Justin Hartley once again returns as Colter, the lone-wolf survivalist and reward seeker who travels from case to case using his instincts, tracking abilities and unconventional methods to find missing people and uncover the truth. His trusted team remains an essential part of the operation, with Fiona Rene returning as Reenie Greene and Chris Lee as Randy.

But Season 4 isn't simply about another missing person case. The premiere, “Safe Harbor,” sends Colter into a dangerous criminal operation at the Port of Los Angeles after he begins searching for the missing father of a teenage boy. What starts as one family's desperate plea for help quickly puts Colter in the middle of something far more dangerous.

And that's exactly where Tracker continues to shine: Colter may be hunting for answers for other people, but his own complicated family history never seems far behind.

The third season left Colter and his brother Russell Shaw with even more questions surrounding their father's mysterious work, giving the family storyline plenty of room to continue developing. Jensen Ackles' Russell has become an important part of Colter's world, bringing another layer of tension, history and sibling chemistry to the series.

Season 4 also brings a new environment to the series, with production moving from Vancouver to Los Angeles. That shift opens the door for Colter to navigate a different kind of landscape while continuing the show's familiar formula of missing person mysteries, dangerous conspiracies and personal stakes.

Season 4 of Tracker premieres tonight, October 4, at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, with the show returning to its regular 9 p.m. time slot beginning October 11.

First, saddle up with Marshals. Then follow Colter Shaw into Tracker. Two returning favorites. Two brand new seasons. One seriously busy Sunday night.

The CBS fall premiere officially starts tonight — and viewers have plenty of reasons to tune in.
