CBS announces early Season 2 renewals for "Boston Blue" and "Sheriff Country"

Fans of the hit series "Boston Blue" and Sheriff Country" can breathe a little easier as CBS has announced season two renewals for both shows for the 2026-2027 season.
Produced by CBS Studios, both series premiered on October 17 and have been ratings successes due to their writing and production values.
Boasting impressive numbers, "Sheriff Country" averaged 7.6 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7-day multiplatform ratings, up +33% in the time period vs. S.W.A.T. season average, and is consistently a time period winner at 8:00 pm Fridays.
Set in small town Edgewater, California, "Sheriff Country", a spinoff of CBS' hit drama "Fire Country," follows Sheriff Mickey Fox as she investigates criminal activity while navigating complex family dynamics.

"Boston Blue", the spinoff of "Blue Bloods", is averaging 8 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7-day multiplatform ratings, with streaming alone up +87% from "Blue Bloods" last fall. Boston Blue is consistently a time period winner at 10:00 pm on Fridays.
"Boston Blue" follows former NYPD Detective Danny Reagan as he joins the Boston Police Department and partners with Detective Lena Silver, with whom he has formed a strong working relationship while establishing a new life in Boston with his son. Praised for its diversity and interfaith family dynamics, the series quickly became one of the most-watched new shows of fall 2025.

Sheriff County and Boston Blue air on CBS at 8 and 10 pm on Fridays, exclusively on CBS, and are available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
