Carry On is the latest action thriller from Netflix starring Taron Egerton as an LAX TSA agent blackmailed by a mysterious traveler (Jason Bateman), forcing him to smuggle a dangerous item onto a flight on Christmas Eve.
Written by T.J. Fixman and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the film is the first in Netflix's multi-deal with Steven Speilberg's Amblin production company. Carry On premiered on Netflix on December 13.
The series stars:
Taron Egerton as Ethan Kopek
Jason Bateman as the Traveler
Sofia Carson as Nora Parisi
Danielle Deadwyler as Elena Cole
Logan Marshall-Green as Agent Alcott
Theo Rossi as the Watcher
Dean Norris as Phil Sarkowski
Sinqua Walls as Jason Noble
Josh Brener as Herschel
Curtiss Cook as Lionel Williams

Inspired by the movie Die Hard, starring the venerable Bruce Willis, Carry On adapts some of the original plot with modern twists. Expecting his first child with his girlfriend Nora, Ethan has unfulfilled dreams of being a cop. When his boss gives him the opportunity at promotion to be in charge of the X-ray machine on a trial run, the adrenaline kicks into high gear when he's given an earbud that is connected to the mysterious Traveler. If he doesn't comply with the Traveler's demands, who wants him to smuggle a nerve agent on board, he will kill his girlfriend. It's a race against time as Ethan must save his girlfriend, outsmart the Traveler's terrorist plot, and save everyone on flight before it's too late.
The Netflix original is the perfect action film for the holidays, filled with copious suspense and action sequences that will delight fans. Egerton, best known for the Kingsman franchise, effortlessly fits into this role as the determined young hero up for the challenge. It's Bateman's ominous turn from the light-hearted, hapless characters he usually plays with liquid fluidity to the ominous terrorist that elevates the movie into a fun, thrilling ride for 1 hour and 59 minutes, along with the fantastic Danielle Deadwyler who is currently starring in Netflix's superb The Piano Lesson.
Grab a bowl of popcorn and get ready to enjoy this thriller from start to finish.
