Nearly three decades after "Happy Gilmore" premiered, Adam Sandler is back in the role that helped make him a breakout star as the lovable underdog in Netflix's sequel to the hit comedy film.
Produced by Sandler's Happy Madison Productions, the film is written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy and directed by Kyle Newacheck, who also serves as executive producer. Sandler, known for his special brand of brawdy comedy, racked up raucous laughter after Happy won his first Tour Championship in 1996, and he brings along new and familiar faces with a plethora of cameos from celebrities and athletes for the latest adventure.

What could possibly go wrong after Happy became an instant legend at the end of the first film? Quite a lot, actually.... Happy now has five kids and is non too happily retired, depressed, and a broke alcoholic. Fate is definitely against Happy (no spoilers here!), who is grieving and working in a supermarket to support himself and his youngest daughter, Vienna (played by Sandler's real-life daughter, Sunny). Let's just say life is hard! When the opportunity presents itself for Vienna, an aspiring dancer, to enroll in ballet school in Paris, which costs a whopping $75,000 per year, it motivates Happy to get back in the game and make enough money to make his daughter's dream come true.
In addition to Sandler, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Benny Safdie, Ben Stiller, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, John Daly, Haley Joel Osment, Jackie Sandler, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Philip Schneider, Ethan Cutkosky, Conor Sherry, Kevin Nealon, Lavell Crawford, Kym Whitley, John Farley, Eric André, Martin Herlihy, and Margaret Qualley all contribute to the fun filled with a ton of nosalgia from the first film.
Will Happy triumph one again and prove to everyone that he can beat his competition and be the loveable underdog everyone can root for again?
Don't miss Happy Gilmore 2 streaming now on Netflix.
